Volkswagen Passat - Video tutorial

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005
Part: Engine
Operation: Lambda probe replacement instructions

The lambda probe is able to detect the oxygen concentration inside the exhaust gases; through the comparison measurement of the oxygen present in the ambient air, detected at the other end of the probe, the quantity of air in the exhaust gases is indirectly obtained. The probe then transmits the information, via an electric signal, to the control unit (engine control unit) which regulates the injection of fuel and air into the combustion chamber: correct operation is therefore absolutely essential for the regular operation of the engine and above all for consumption. It is advisable to replace the probe when the engine is cold and to obtain the appropriate open key on the front to be able to insert it despite the cable; to reach the probe, remove the coolant tank, remove the probe, unhook the socket and proceed backwards to install the new one.

How do you open the fuel flap of the Volkswagen Golf 5?

In order to open the fuel flap of the Volkswagen Golf 5, you need to press the appropriate button inside the passenger compartment, which is located in the rear part of the glove box on the driver's door. By pressing the button, the flap will unlock and it will then be possible to open it manually. Once the flap has been opened, the fuel tank access cap must be unscrewed. To close everything again, it will be sufficient to screw the tank cap again; subsequently, the flap must also be closed, pressing it so that it fits thanks to its locking mechanism.
