How to Replace the Key Battery on the Volkswagen Passat

If you need to replace the remote key battery of the vehicle, follow the instructions provided in this video tutorial and the description below. The first step is to extract the security key by pressing the small button on the side of the remote, then press the same button again and pull towards you the aluminium-coloured plastic cover above the remote. Use your fingers to lever and remove the back cover of the remote. Underneath, you will find the battery compartment, which you can extract and replace with the new one. Then reattach the two covers and reinsert the security key.
