How to Program a New Key for a Volkswagen Polo

To program the key for your Volkswagen Polo MK5, locate the OBD II port under the fuse box, between the steering wheel and the driver's door. Connect the USD plug (this device is not worth buying: it can be rented for about £11 per week on specific platforms like Hickleys.com in the zed-full immobilizer solutions section): select your vehicle's make and follow the instructions. Turn on the ignition and press "continue": it will automatically detect the ignition. Ensure the key and the new transponder are of the same type. Click on "key check" and then "continue". Verify the original key and then the new transponder. The ones in the video did not match: you need to find two of the same type. Now proceed to program the key: select "programme key", confirm, and turn the ignition back on. It will go through its procedure until it asks what you want to do. Respond with "add Key" and introduce the new key, which will be pre-coded.
