To replace the starter motor on a Volkswagen Tiguan, open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay. You will need to remove the battery and the air filter housing to gain access to the underlying components. The starter motor is located here and must be freed from its position by unscrewing the fixing screws and disconnecting the power cables. Once the old starter motor has been removed, you can insert the new one, connect it, and secure it.
