How to Remove the Car Radio from the Dashboard

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

To remove the car radio, first, purchase the appropriate tools. Take the two prongs and insert them into the two slots found on either side of the volume and tuner buttons. This will disengage the radio from the dashboard. Now insert 2 to 3 fingers into the cassette slot and gently pull the radio towards you until it is completely out of its position in the dashboard. Carefully disconnect the three plugs on the left side of the stereo from the power supply, and on the right side of the stereo (taking care with the type of connection), detach the antenna connection. The vehicle is a Volkswagen Golf, but the procedure is also valid for the Jetta, Bora, and Beetle.
