How to Replace the Front Brake Pads on the Volkswagen Passat B6

Let’s see how to replace the front brake pads on the Volkswagen Passat. First, remove the wheel nut cover; if you have locking wheel bolts, use the appropriate adapter. Then, remove the wheel. Next, you need to remove the spring from the caliper, which can be done with a standard flathead screwdriver. Inside the caliper, there are two plastic caps that need to be removed, then take out the two caliper mounting screws using a 7 mm hex key. Once the caliper is free from the screws, use the screwdriver to push back the piston and fully release the caliper. On the driver's side pads, there is a "brake wear" contact. Now you can remove the worn pads. Fully retract the piston, then insert the new pads. Refit the calipers and reverse all operations until the wheel is remounted. You can repeat the process on the other side.
