Removal and Installation of the Rear Axle.

Model: Volkswagen New Beetle MK 2, 9C - Years 1999-2012

Place the car on a ramp or find a way to position it so you can work underneath. Locate the axle to be removed. Disconnect the brake cable. Now remove the shock absorbers from the top by unscrewing the bolts that connect them to the body. Disconnect the oil supply to the brakes. Unscrew the bolts that connect the axle plate to the body. At this point, you can remove the axle. Remove the wheels and the axle is almost ready to be installed on the other car. You just need to connect the brakes that exist on the other car. To perform the installation, follow the same steps seen before but in reverse order. This operation is performed on a VW New Beetle and an Audi TT.
