How to Operate the Volkswagen DSG Automatic Gearbox

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf VII, MK 7, Golf 7 - Years 2012-2019

Here’s how to operate the automatic gearbox of a Volkswagen Golf VII: the DSG gearbox is certainly one of the easiest to use. On the left side of the gearbox, you will find letters. "P" stands for park, "R" for reverse, "N" for neutral, and "D" stands for drive. To switch from one position to another, press the brake pedal, then there is a kind of trigger on the front of the lever: each time you change position, click it to move to the next position. To start, slowly release the brake and the car will move on its own. If you wish, you can also intervene manually. Move the gear lever to the right (when in "D"). This will switch to "S" - always keep your foot on the brake - pushing the lever forward, you will shift up. Pulling it back, you will shift down. To park, put the lever in "R" and the vehicle will reverse. We are done. Now shift to "P".
