How to Replace the Front Shock Absorbers

Model: Volkswagen Transporter T5, MK 5 - Years 2003-2014

Place the car on a lift and raise it to a comfortable working height. Remove the front wheel corresponding to the shock absorber to be replaced. Identify the part to be replaced and the bolts that need to be unscrewed to remove it from its position. Proceed to unscrew the bolts. Open the bonnet, and once identified, unscrew the bolt that secures the top of the shock absorber. At this point, you can extract the shock absorber from its housing. Now, using a suitable machine, compress the spring to disassemble it. Replace the old shock absorber with the new one and reassemble it following the same steps in reverse order. The maintenance operation shown in the images is performed on a Volkswagen Transporter.
