Replacing the battery in a Volkswagen Golf 5 key is a straightforward and quick process. The first step is to extend the metal part of the key outward.

The second step is to insert a flathead screwdriver into the side of the remote to remove the key part from the battery section. The third step is to open the remote and take out the battery.

The fourth step is to insert the new battery and close the remote. The fifth step is to reinsert the top part of the remote onto the bottom part.
