The electric opening tailgate of the Volkswagen Tiguan allows for adjustment of the opening angle to fit low-ceiling garages, preventing dents. To adjust it, open the tailgate using the external control to its maximum extension, press the close button and press it again when the tailgate reaches the desired angle.

Now press and hold the button until you hear a confirmation beep, release it and close the tailgate; on the next opening, the tailgate will stop at the set angle. To return the opening to maximum extension, gently push the tailgate manually to the end of its travel, press the button until you hear the confirmation beep.
