One of the tasks during the service of the Volkswagen Golf is to replace the air intake filter element, which allows the engine to "breathe" better and consume less fuel. To do this, open the bonnet of the engine compartment, use a small screwdriver to disconnect the electrical connector of the sensor on the air intake pipe, and with pliers, loosen the clamp that holds it in place and remove it. Using a cross-head screwdriver, unscrew the screws that secure the cover, which can then be removed to access the old filter element.

Clean the inside of the box and install a new filter, refit the cover by tightening it with its screws, insert the intake pipe securing it with the clamp, and reconnect the sensor contacts.
