How do you replace the fuel cap of the Volkswagen Golf?

To replace the fuel door of the Volkswagen Golf, you will also need to replace the entire actuator mechanism: to do this, you will need to open the fuel door and use a tool to lever off the internal fastening clips around the cap. Once the internal lining of the fuel door has been removed, you can then disconnect the underlying connector so that the new replacement part can be connected to it; after installation, you will need to secure it with the appropriate screws and check that everything is functioning properly.
