How to Reset the Service Light on a Volvo S40?

Model: Volvo S40 MK 2 - Years 2004-2012

From the instrument cluster of the Volvo S40, you can completely clear the Service light by pressing and holding the button in the central left part of the instrument cluster, just below the speedometer and to the left of the central screen: keep this button pressed while the instrument cluster is off. This allows you to insert the ignition key into the corresponding lock and turn it to switch on the cluster: while continuing to hold the button, wait a few seconds for the light to turn off. At the end of the procedure, you can remove the key.
