Dismantling Front Headlamp Lens

Once the front headlamp is removed, unclip the metal clips that secure the lens to the plastic support. Use a heat gun to warm the adhesive along the edge of the lens to soften it, then pull the lens to detach it from the plastic support.

Clean the inside of the lens thoroughly to remove any residue, remove the old adhesive from the edge, and apply new sealing adhesive along the edge, then attach the lens to the plastic support: it is advisable to use masking tape during the adhesive drying process to ensure the lens adheres well to the support.

Also, check for any cracks in the adhesive before proceeding with installation.

How to open the bonnet on a Volkswagen Golf?
