To correctly replace the battery inside the key of your Volvo XC70 third series (2007-2016), carefully follow the instructions in this mini guide. First, pull out the metal part at the top of the cover to remove the physical emergency key. Next, using a thin object or a standard flat screwdriver, open the cover and locate the exhausted button battery.

Remove it and insert the new replacement battery. Finally, reassemble everything correctly and you're done.
