How to Adjust the Handbrake on a Volvo S60?

To adjust the handbrake on a Volvo S60, use a tool to pry off the cover around the handbrake lever. Once the cover is removed, locate the underlying bolt that allows you to adjust the tension of the cable: tightening this bolt will make the handbrake firmer and reduce its travel. Conversely, loosening the bolt will decrease the handbrake tension, increasing its travel. After the adjustment, reposition the cover.
