These short and simple instructions will show us how to disassemble and replace the gear shift knob of the Volvo S40. First of all, we get into the car and start by grabbing the gear shift knob with both hands, pulling it upwards with force until it comes off and can be removed from the gear shift lever, as shown in the video. At this point, we can install the new gear shift knob, of the correct type, by fitting it perfectly onto the lever; it is important that it is securely attached to the gear shift lever, so as not to create any play between the lever and the knob.
