On the Volvo XC90, the fuel door may get stuck due to a faulty release button or lock actuator. In such cases, you can still perform an emergency opening by following the simple procedure shown in this tutorial.

First, open the trunk, then lift the carpet and remove both the floor panel and the right wall cover. Next, locate the actuator piston, grasp it, and push it forward to unlock the latch.

At this point, you will be able to refuel or replace the faulty component.
