Gear Oil Replacement Instructions

Model: Alfa Romeo 147 MK 1 - Years 2000-2010

Lift the vehicle on suitable car ramps to gain easier access underneath; then remove the undertray and locate the gearbox oil drain plug: it is located at the bottom of the gearbox very close to the bell housing connecting to the engine; to facilitate draining, also unscrew the filler plug located at the front, a bit higher up. Once the draining is complete and the plug is tightened, the gearbox can be filled with new oil using a funnel with a tube that must be inserted into the filler hole accessed from the engine bay, between the brake fluid reservoir and the power steering reservoir: once the oil begins to spill from the hole, the gearbox is full.
