Today we will explain how to replace the knob and shift boot of the Audi A6. This operation can be easily done on your own thanks to our short video tutorial. The steps to follow are simple and quick and require the use of a flat head screwdriver. To start, we remove the rigid plastic part at the base of the shift boot. After lifting the shift boot, we remove the hook located just below the knob, lower the boot slightly, and by rotating the knob we remove it. After removing the knob, we can also remove the boot. The assembly follows the reverse process, whether it is a compatible knob or an original one. We insert the boot into the rigid plastic part and mount it inside the mechanism, then insert the knob and test the operation of the shift.
