Let's see how to maintain the fuel pump of an Audi A6: disconnect the battery cables, then remove the rear seat cushions of the car. Use a socket wrench to remove the screws securing the metal cover, and take it off from its place. Use absorbent paper around the perimeter to soak up any fluid leaks. Use a chisel to unscrew the large securing pin of the fuel pump, disconnect the power terminals and the fluid circulation hoses. Extract the floating fuel pump from its housing along with any attached parts, perform maintenance and repair on the piece (if not possible, replace it). Finally, install a new part.
