Removing the Front Door Panel

Model: Audi A6 MK 2, C5 - Years 1997-2004
Part: Door trim panel

First, remove the screw located at the top right corner of the panel (on the side opposite the rearview mirror); then remove the screw at the top left on the inner edge and the one in the internal handle just below the window switch.
At this point, you can detach the panel by pulling it from the internal handle; to remove it completely, disconnect the connectors attached to it and the lock release cable.
If you want to remove the rearview mirror, detach the triangular plastic cover and unscrew the mounting pin.
