How to replace the engine oil and filter on an Audi A3? Follow these steps for the replacement of the filter and topping up the fluid: Lift the car using a column lift, then, using a socket spanner, undo the large bolt securing the sump, which contains the oil (located at the bottom of the car); allow the fluid to drain into a disposal container. Remove the worn oil filter and position a new one. Lower the car to the ground and open the car door, pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard and lift the bonnet; Top up with new fluid and close the front bonnet.
