Position and function of the collision sensor of the Audi Q3.

Model: Audi Q3 8U - Years 2011-2018
Part: Checks and maintenance

The airbag collision sensor (or crash sensor) detects the impact and its severity, thereby determining which airbags to activate. The front sensor is integrated, as we can see in the video, into the front structure and has the replacement code 8K0955557C for the Audi Q3 2015/2018. The side sensors, on the other hand, are located in the door pillars or under the seats, depending on the versions. If the sensor malfunctions, it can trigger a diagnostic error, detectable from the EOBD port, such as B1015 (fault in the front sensor) or U0155 (loss of communication with the control unit). The connectors for the sensors are usually located under the front seats, so it is a common fault for the connector to become loose.
