You can completely erase the "Component Protection Active" message on the Audi A4 display by connecting a diagnostic tool with VCDS software to the vehicle's OBD port: this port is located on the lower left side of the dashboard near the steering column.

Once connected, follow the on-screen instructions to erase the message: this way, you can then disconnect the scanner and notice that the radio no longer displays the message, making it usable.

Next, locate the release lever on the underside of the rear seat, near the floor. Press this lever down while pulling the seat upwards to unlock it from the anchor pins.
