How and When to Change the Timing Belt on the Audi A3 Sportback 1.6 TDI

This guide explains how and when to change the timing belt on the Audi A3 Sportback; generally, the belt should be replaced within a range of 75,000 to 100,000 miles, after performing a visual inspection. To replace the belt, raise the vehicle to remove the front right wheel and the wheel arch liner; then remove the fuel filter and the radiator fluid reservoir, subsequently taking off the timing cover. At this point, disconnect the V-belt and remove the engine mount; then proceed with the replacement of the timing belt!
