This guide explains how and when to change the timing belt on the Audi A3 Sportback; generally, the belt should be replaced within a range of 75,000 to 100,000 miles, after performing a visual inspection. To replace the belt, raise the vehicle to remove the front right wheel and the wheel arch liner; then remove the fuel filter and the radiator fluid reservoir, subsequently taking off the timing cover.

At this point, disconnect the V-belt and remove the engine mount; then proceed with the replacement of the timing belt!
