Fuel Filter Replacement Instructions

Model: Audi A6 MK 3, C6 - Years 2004-2012

To access the fuel filter, first remove the plastic cover above the engine: the filter is located at the rear, near the coolant reservoir. Ensure that the new filter is compatible (shape and position of the inlet and outlet pipes) and that the package includes new O-ring seals. Then, unscrew the screws securing the radiator reservoir without disconnecting the hoses, so you can move it and facilitate the filter replacement; open the clamps on the supply and return hoses and move them back to slide the hoses off, remove the retaining clip for the fuel supply hoses, and extract the corresponding plastic fitting; then unscrew the clamp screw for the filter and remove it from its housing to insert the new one; once the new filter is secured (it is not recommended to fill it with diesel from the old filter, which may be dirty, but to use clean diesel), insert the supply fittings to which the new O-ring seals must be applied, securing it with the retaining clip and the outlet and return hoses to be secured with the clamps. Reattach the reservoir and the engine cover.
