Engine Air Filter Replacement

Model: Audi A6 MK 3, C6 - Years 2004-2012

Open the hood and remove the plastic cover above the engine: the air filter container (air box) is located on the left side of the engine compartment (when facing the front), near the fender; detach the metal tabs securing the air box cover and lift it off by disconnecting the flexible connection with the intake air duct; remove the old filter (it is a cylindrical paper filter), clean any dirt from the filter box, and insert the new one by fitting it into its designated slot, then reinstall the cover (generally, it is not necessary to disassemble the duct).
