This operation can be done using a screwdriver inserted into the designated holes behind the steering wheel, but due to limited space between the steering wheel and the instrument panel, a useful DIY tool is a bent "L" screwdriver, which not only allows insertion into the hole but also facilitates the leverage on the spring.
