Removing the Exterior Rearview Mirror

Model: Audi Tt 8N, MK 1 - Years 1998-2006

The exterior rearview mirror is attached to the door via a support bracket bolted to the door itself. Start by disconnecting the mirror from the adjustment system support by prying it off from the back, being careful not to damage the plastic tabs, and disconnect the defrosting wires. Remove the safety clip that secures the mirror to the door support, spray some penetrating oil, and remove the aluminum tab. Disconnect the wiring harness for the adjustment system to take off the mirror. At this point, unscrew the bolts that secure the support to the door.
