Removing the Intake Pressure Sensor

Model: Audi Tt 8N, MK 1 - Years 1998-2006

The manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor is mounted directly in the intake manifold tube and provides the engine control unit with data regarding the air pressure detected. This data is used to manage a series of other parameters. A malfunction of this sensor, often caused by oil vapor contamination in the intake, will obviously compromise engine performance. On the vehicle in question, the MAP sensor is located at the outlet of the intercooler, practically under the right front headlight (passenger side). To access it, you need to remove the bumper and the headlight itself.
