How to Replace the Rear Brake Pads on Audi with Electric Handbrake

On many models of the VAG group (Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda) equipped with an electric handbrake, to replace the rear brake pads, you should use diagnostic equipment to release the handbrake; an alternative is to use a battery (a 9-volt battery will suffice) to power and operate the motor to disengage the handbrake; after the normal replacement of the pads by removing the brake caliper from its support, simply reverse the polarity to reinsert it; proceed in the same way on the other brake caliper; before driving, it is advisable to perform several engage and disengage operations of the handbrake using the appropriate button.
