How to Remove the Airbag from the Audi A3

Removing the driver's side airbag, which is mounted on the steering wheel, is quite straightforward on this model. First, disconnect one terminal of the battery to prevent any warning lights from activating and to avoid accidental detonation. Once the power is disconnected, locate the slots behind the spokes of the steering wheel where the airbag retaining springs are visible. Insert a flat screwdriver into the slots to lever and release the springs, then pull the device away enough to disconnect the connectors.
