How to reset the "Service" indicator on a BMW 1 Series?

To reset the "Service" light on a BMW 1 Series, start by turning on the instrument panel without starting the engine. Press and hold the button on the bottom left of the instrument panel until a yellow triangle with an exclamation point appears. Continue holding until the reset menu appears. Use the button to scroll through the menu options until you find the service indication to reset. Once selected, hold the button until "Reset?" appears on the display. Release the button and then press again to confirm the reset. The display will show "Reset in progress" and then "Reset completed" to confirm that the "Service" light has been successfully reset. Turn off the instrument panel and turn it back on to verify that the "Service" light is no longer active.
