How do you reset the brake wear indicator light on the BMW 1 Series?

Model: BMW Serie 1 E81, E82, MK 1, E87 - Years 2004-2013

To reset the brake wear indicator light on the BMW 1 Series, you need to turn on the instrument panel by inserting the ignition key into the corresponding slot: once this is turned on, you can navigate through the menu using the small switch located on the left lever of the steering wheel. When the icon with the brake pad wear symbol appears, you can press and hold the BC button located on the same lever: this will make the light disappear and finally you can turn off the panel by turning the key.
