To replace the battery of the remote control / key of the BMW 520 series 5 it is necessary, first of all, to remove the key from its housing. To do this we must press on the side of the remote control, opposite to the side where the car manufacturer's emblem is located, near the ring embedded in the remote control itself, and pull to remove the real key from its housing. At this point we use the key itself to pry the small plastic cover of the battery cover compartment in correspondence with the appropriate hole to remove it and thus be able to access the battery itself which we can replace.
