Here’s how to remove and replace the transfer case motor on a BMW X3: Lift the vehicle on a column lift, locate the transfer case as shown in the video. Use a socket wrench to remove the fastening bolts near the part (disconnect the power connectors).

Once the transfer case is removed, take it out of the vehicle (replace it with a new part afterward). Finally, reinstall the motor after testing it thoroughly (connect the power connectors) and tighten the appropriate bolts.

Lower the vehicle after maintenance.
