Guide to Repair the Transfer Case on the BMW X3 - X5

Model: BMW X3 MK 1, E83 - Years 2003-2010

In this brief guide, you will see the main steps to disassemble and repair the transfer case on the first-generation BMW X3, as well as the X5. First, remove the transfer case from the vehicle by unscrewing the mounting bolts and disconnecting all connectors. Next, remove the snap ring and take off the gear. At this point, replace it with the new one, applying grease to the seal and bearing (replace them if worn); then close the transfer case by tapping with punches and reinstall it on the vehicle.

Where is the Fuel Filter Located in a Volvo XC60?
