If the warning light for the traction control system and the 4x4 remains on the instrument cluster display, and especially if you feel jerking during startup, it means there is a problem with the transfer case, a common issue for this car model. Before rushing into repairs, check the condition of the tires and the tread pattern: a change in the rolling coefficient could improperly activate the transfer case. That said, repairing the transfer case involves replacing the associated actuator motor.
