How do you replace the cabin fan resistor on a BMW 3 Series? Gather a screwdriver or a cordless drill: unscrew the fastening screws around the perimeter of the fan located in the dashboard (if you need to remove it along with the resistor). Once this is done, disconnect the various power connectors, remove the fan regulator from its housing, and insert the new part into its place. Finally, reinstall all the components removed from the dashboard as you took them out. Check the fan's proper functioning.
