How to reset the BMW iDrive system

Model: BMW Serie 3 F30, F31 - Years 2012-2019

The reset of BMW iDrive allows you to restore the infotainment system when the screen freezes, the audio does not respond, or temporary anomalies occur. With the car stationary and the ignition on (without starting the engine), press and hold the volume button/knob until the screen turns off and the reboot begins; release the button when the initial screen appears. Wait for the home screen to fully load and check the proper functioning of audio, navigation, and smartphone connections. If the system does not respond on the first attempt, you can repeat the same sequence only once, following the same conditions. This action is a quick reboot: it does not alter personal data, does not delete saved stations or paired devices, and does not replace software updates.
