Replacing the Timing Belt on a BMW 3 Series

Let's go through the disassembly and replacement of the timing belt on a BMW 3 Series. Open the hood and lift it, securing it in place. Remove the central plastic cover with a socket wrench; disconnect the power wiring using pliers. Use a wrench to loosen the tensioner pulley and slide the belt off its seat. With a socket wrench, unscrew the tensioner pulley bolt and remove the water pump. Install the new water pump, the tensioner, and the belt itself, tightening everything with the socket wrench. Reinstall the cover with the retaining bolts.
