BMW Serie 3 - Video tutorial

Model: BMW Serie 3 E36 - Years 1990-2001
Part: Brake oil
Operation: Brake oil replacement instructions

The first recommendation is to avoid the brake oil coming into contact with the car body as it is very corrosive. To replace the brake oil, it is preferable to have the appropriate tool that allows you to keep the braking system under pressure so as to facilitate emptying the system through the bleed valves on the brake calipers. First, empty the brake fluid reservoir using a workshop syringe. Connect the drainage system cap instead of the reservoir cap, fill the latter with new brake oil and pump in order to keep the system under pressure by gradually adding new oil; at this point connect a bottle with a tube to the bleed valve on the brake calliper and open the valve to allow the old oil to come out: continue until you see cleaner new oil coming out of the valve. Repeat the operation on each wheel. If you don't have the tool, the same result can be achieved by having someone pump the brake pedal while you open the bleed valves and fill the reservoir with new oil as you go.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
