How to Replace the Key Battery in a BMW 7 Series

Model: BMW Serie 7 F01, MK 5, F02 - Years 2008-2015

Before you begin, press the button located at the top of the key for your BMW 7 Series to extract the physical key from the electronic key fob. Start by prying off the rear cover of the key using a small flathead screwdriver. This will expose the dead battery. Next, remove the dead battery from its compartment, completing the disassembly. To install the new battery, simply reverse these steps, and you will have finished the replacement.
