Replacing the Belt and Alternator on a BMW 5 Series

Is the alternator not charging anymore? Let's see how to remove the alternator from the engine compartment of a BMW 5 Series. Open the hood, disconnect the battery terminals for safety. Remove the various hoses and the air filter housing to access the alternator belt for removal. Take out the alternator from its dedicated space (bolts on the sides), remove the belt. Unscrew and take out the alternator from the engine compartment. Install a new part with the same specifications as the one removed. At the end of the maintenance, connect the new belt to the alternator and the battery terminals.
