Driver Airbag Disassembly Instructions

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006

The airbag on the steering wheel is secured by springs: simply loosen the grip of these springs to detach it. Before proceeding with disassembly, disconnect the battery to prevent any warning lights from activating. Just behind the spokes of the steering wheel, there are designated points for drilling: at these points, insert a medium-sized flathead screwdriver and press toward the center to loosen the grip of the spring and detach the airbag. Once both springs are released, pull the airbag away from the steering wheel and disconnect the connectors after unlocking the respective safety latches.
