How to Change the Differential Oil on BMW F30

Model: BMW Serie 3 F30, F31 - Years 2012-2019

This guide shows how to replace the differential oil on BMW F30 models. First, lift the vehicle and remove the protective cover from the differential using an E12 wrench. After opening the 14mm plug that allows fluid drainage, use a BMW differential fluid extractor to pump out the old lubricant. With a plastic syringe and a plastic tube as an extension, insert the new lubricant into the differential. Use only the fluid recommended by the manufacturer. The fluid level should slightly exceed the fill hole. Drain the oil into a disposal container and reinstall the reservoir plug. Tighten it to a torque of 44 lb-ft and clean any oil residue from the exterior of the differential. Reattach the differential protective cover and lower the vehicle. At this point, the operation is complete.
