How to disassemble the Hard Top of a BMW

Model: BMW Z4 E85, E86 - Years 2002-2008
Part: Convertible top

Before we can begin, we will need to have both doors open, giving us the space we need to work smoothly. So let's start by removing the covers placed near the hooks that fix the Hard Top. By removing these covers, we will have discovered three Allen screws, which we will have to loosen. Once these screws have been loosened, we can go and remove the roof. In order to remove it, I strongly recommend that you do this in two, so as not to risk dropping it and therefore damaging it. We will therefore go to raise it. Once this step is complete, we will have successfully completed the disassembly.

How to Remove the Gear Knob on a Renault Scenic

Want to replace the gear knob on a Scenic? Let’s see how to do it in this video. First, detach the leather gaiter cover from the edge of the centre console. Use a plastic spatula to remove the cap indicating the gear numbers. Grip the knob and twist it until it comes off the shaft. Disconnect the knob from the gaiter, fit a new one onto the gaiter (if the gaiter is damaged, replace it with a new one) and attach it to the metal shaft. Finally, secure the connectors of the leather gaiter onto the centre console.
