To install the backup camera on a BMW 3 Series, open the trunk lid and remove the cover inside by pulling out the retaining clips. This will allow you to access the device connected to the connector just above the license plate. Connect the new backup camera to this device, routing all the cables from the inside. The video cable should be connected to the appropriate socket near the stereo. This way, every time you shift into reverse, the backup camera will activate, allowing you to see behind the vehicle.
